Two years after implementation of the furniture for Krakowskie Przedmieście, due to the Chopin’s Year, the so-called Chopin’s Bench was designed, supplementing the fixtures of the most representative street in Warsaw. Towarzystwo Projektowe was the originator of this undertaking. Several benches were placed along Trakt Królewski, made of black granite, bearing inscriptions regarding places with which Frédéric Chopin had ties there. The inscriptions were prepared in Polish and English. |
Apart from the inscriptions and the map of the Chopin route engraved on the stone benches, they are also equipped with audio modules that enable playing pieces by the composer. The benches have also NFC modules and QR codes which enable connection with the website of the Municipal Office dedicated to Chopin in Warsaw. The design was warmly welcomed by the inhabitants of Warsaw. The benches playing Chopin’s music are recommended in multiple guides as one of the attractions of the Polish capital city.
